My recent programmes concentrated on presenting the caring side of ? and for our citizens and how Israeli society looks after those of our citizens who need help.? Today I conclude this theme by showing two more, but quite different examples.
?
Employment for our Ethiopian citizens often presents some difficulties.?? It is in my view, not as claimed a case of discrimination by our society, but rather a culturally based problem emanating from the lifestyle of their society in Ethiopia. To deal with that would fill a separate programme, suffice to say that their next generation will be fully integrated and not distinguishable from the rest of us.?
The philanthropy of Orna and Isaac Levy goes some way to help some of those new immigrants to integrate into Israeli society.
?
The second example is how Diaspora Jewry can get involved in showing Israeli children at risk or from dysfunctional or economically disadvantaged families, that there is more to life than the street. Yeshiva University of New York leads the way that others could follow.
